If you are anticipating 5 o'clock to hit so you can head out on a weekend vacay - or even just enjoy an extended weekend at home with the fam - then hopefully this will help the time pass by super quick!
So after Monday's post, I was on the hunt for more ways to wear a scarf.
I stumbled upon several videos on YouTube for how to wear a scarf as a top. Several were suitable for the club scene. Not really the look I was going for.
So I took a few notes from several stylists, and got to it!
If you read often, then you know I often post about Stella & Dot. I can't help it - I LOVE my job :)
We have a new line of girl's jewelry launching today. It's super cute, and totally makes me wish I had a little girl.......but then I wake up and the moment passes :)
I want to know what YOU like about this new line. So leave me lots of comments with your favorites. Or if you don't like them, let me know that too. Different strokes for different folks, amIright?
With this new line, we have also launched a Stock Up Star program! Purchase 2 of the items marked at $22, and get your third piece for HALF OFF! (The half off item must also be $22 & from this line).
I have to admit: I never was a big fan of wearing a scarf as of last year. I knew of only 1 way to wear it & it was only suitable for the fall / winter in my mind. Not a year round piece.
Yes - I must live in the back woods of Florida, or under a rock. What was I thinking?!?!
Do you keep your workout wear on, well after your workout is over? Do you try and accessorize to make it not look so frumpy when you run errands or go to work?
Yeah, me neither.
Has anyone else been finding themselves on Zappo's much more lately? Like every day, numerous times a day, in hopes of scoring that trip & race entry?
Yeah, me neither. Stupid glass sneakers.
Has anyone else been watching the RHOC reunion episodes, secretly hoping Vicki gets fired & Gretchen & Tamra reunite as besties!?
Yeah, me neither.
Has anyone else been longing for new post its, and notebooks, and pens, and binders, and May Books, and Erin Condren agendas because of all this 'back to school' shopping taking place - even though you don't have kids in school???
Yeah, me neither.
Has anyone ever wondered what happened to Lisa Frank and why her & the sparkly unicorns suddenly disappeared from stores?
Yeah, me neither.
Just some randomness....now go enjoy your weekend.
I wrote a post AWHILE ago in regards to fad diets & I did mention a popular "weight loss" company. At the time I was not dogging this company, I was more or less pointing out that some people are very misguided when it comes to nutrition - and I offered up the example of those 100 calorie snack packs.
Today, I came across THIS POST written by a lady who was a "weight loss consultant" for another weight loss company.
It's an apology letter and it's definitely worth the read if you have the time.
The moral of the story, and I quote her:
Just eat food. Eat real food, be active, and live your life. Forget all the diet and weight loss nonsense. It's really just that. Nonsense.
And now - without bombarding you with my opinion....here are some pretty images :)
So my dear friend Emily just happens to be an amazing talent when it comes to interior design. She is now mommy to the cutest little boy, Thompson & has transitioned to being a SAHM. (She was a visual manager for Macy's).
Check out some of what she has done:
This is her son's nursery!
You can't see it, but there is this AMAZING white, fluffy rug.
BittyBeau & I love just going into the room and sitting on the rug :)
The bedding was custom - I love her fabric choices, don't you?!?
This is her cousin's living room - she had wanted to add color....
I'd say Mission Accomplished!
Emily has also this amazing eye for restoration....look at these old pieces of furniture that she re-purposed!
She used a gray paint, and changed the knobs. One dresser is in the guest room, with the nightstand (not pictured)....and the other dresser is in her son's nursery. Did I mention that she bought these pieces at an estate sale for a STEAL of a price!? Just goes to show you what a good eye & a little elbow grease can do!
Needless to say I am one of her BIGGEST fans and I absolutely can not WAIT for her to make my home pretty! She came by yesterday to see the mess & boring-ness she has to tackle.
Expect several more posts on the progress including before & afters!
Do you have an eye for design? How would you categorize your home decor?
Seeing the brand regularly featured in fashion magazines is what intrigued me & ultimately got me to join. We obviously have a fabulous PR team that sends out samples of our line to editors & celebrities....but it's up to them to feature us and wear us. (We do not pay.)
If you're looking to start up a fun career - with the flexibility we all want & need - I'd love to hear from you. I am looking to join forces with fashion forward women, and maybe you would be a great fit.
I can see the positives behind it - but good grief, being told you can not carry your beloved Kate Spade or Louis while rooting on your home team....that's just heartache.
Smart on the NFL's part though, since bags must be plastic ("see through"), their collection of plastic totes will be booming in sales.
As much as I do not want being to be told what bag / purse I can or cannot carry - I sure as heck do not want to carry a clear one that everyone can see in to!
Plus it's UGLY.
What are your thoughts???
So here is what you CAN bring:
Bags that are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 12” x 6” x 12.” (Official NFL team logo clear plastic tote bags will be available through club merchandise outlets or at nflshop.com/allclear),
One-gallon clear plastic freezer bag (Ziploc bag or similar)
Small clutch bags, approximately the size of a hand, with or without a handle or strap can be taken into the stadium with one of the clear plastic bags.
An exception will be made for medically necessary items after proper inspection at a gate designated for this purpose.
The policy goes on to read:
Prohibited items include, but are not limited to: purses larger than a clutch bag, coolers, briefcases, backpacks, fanny packs, cinch bags, seat cushions, luggage of any kind, computer bags and camera bags or any bag larger than the permissible size.
Fans will continue to be able to enjoy their tailgate activities in the parking lots and to do so with greater safety and the knowledge that their entry into the stadium will be smoother and faster. They also will continue to be able to carry items allowed into the stadium, such as binoculars, cameras, and smart phones.
As the 2013 season approaches, we encourage fans to visit individual NFL team websites for specific stadium information.
Big enough to fit your phone (I have the Samsung Galaxy S3), your credit cards, some cash, and a lipgloss; and small enough to pass the NFL's new rule. Plus the strap is removable.
The wallet comes in these fabulous prints & colors:
It may still be a little larger than what's allowed as their definition of a "clutch" - but you get the idea. I have one of these for BittyBeau & it works like a charm! I can easily fit 4 diapers in it, & case of wipes. The bag itself rolls out into a changing mat.
