dressing the bump

I have found a hidden gem for maternity wear! I am loving this little online boutique!!!

MattyB was reviewing our credit card statement & politely asked: "what's this Pink Blush store?". I replied with "only the best maternity shop!".
MB: What's so special about it?
Me: No one else I know is shopping there, plus I can look cute in their stuff - not the normal frumpy maternity wear!
MB: eye roll

Thought I would share 2 styles I picked up recently.
I know, my photog skills are still uber amazing. Be jelly.

Bracelets 1, 2, 3

Sorry for my absence lately. Chasing a toddler & being 22 weeks prego has left me all kinds of brainless. Seriously. Hours of Sesame Street is really frying my brain. I caught myself watching it well after Beau had gone down for his nap.

22 weeks down....

no purse, no problem?

I just caught wind of this whole "no purse" rule with the NFL!

I can see the positives behind it - but good grief, being told you can not carry your beloved Kate Spade or Louis while rooting on your home team....that's just heartache.

Smart on the NFL's part though, since bags must be plastic ("see through"), their collection of plastic totes will be booming in sales.

As much as I do not want being to be told what bag / purse I can or cannot carry - I sure as heck do not want to carry a clear one that everyone can see in to!

Plus it's UGLY.

What are your thoughts???

So here is what you CAN bring:
  • Bags that are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 12” x 6” x 12.” (Official NFL team logo clear plastic tote bags will be available through club merchandise outlets or at nflshop.com/allclear),
  • One-gallon clear plastic freezer bag (Ziploc bag or similar)
  • Small clutch bags, approximately the size of a hand, with or without a handle or strap can be taken into the stadium with one of the clear plastic bags.
  • An exception will be made for medically necessary items after proper inspection at a gate designated for this purpose.

The policy goes on to read:
Prohibited items include, but are not limited to: purses larger than a clutch bag, coolers, briefcases, backpacks, fanny packs, cinch bags, seat cushions, luggage of any kind, computer bags and camera bags or any bag larger than the permissible size.

Fans will continue to be able to enjoy their tailgate activities in the parking lots and to do so with greater safety and the knowledge that their entry into the stadium will be smoother and faster. They also will continue to be able to carry items allowed into the stadium, such as binoculars, cameras, and smart phones.

As the 2013 season approaches, we encourage fans to visit individual NFL team websites for specific stadium information.

Luckily I have a solution for you!

The Chelsea Tech Wallet:

Big enough to fit your phone (I have the Samsung Galaxy S3), your credit cards, some cash, and a lipgloss; and small enough to pass the NFL's new rule. Plus the strap is removable.

The wallet comes in these fabulous prints & colors:

So for those of us with babies, either stay home or invest in one of these....a "diaper wallet"

It may still be a little larger than what's allowed as their definition of a "clutch" - but you get the idea. I have one of these for BittyBeau & it works like a charm! I can easily fit 4 diapers in it, & case of wipes. The bag itself rolls out into a changing mat.

go from drab to fab in jeans & a tshirt

I live in jeans & a tshirt. It's a very special occasion that I venture out of this fabulous uniform ;)

My favorite tees are the PINK brand ones from VS normally always layered with one of these tanks.

So here are a few pieces that I like to add to my ensemble to make me not feel all grungy.

this necklace is amazing. the stone pendant is reversible and
there is a removable "s" hook so you can change the length
it's called the SANIBEL pendant....you find it HERE

this is the TESSA FRINGE and i love how "glam-rock chic" it is.
(i could have totally just made up that term)

what i wore sunday....on wednesday?

Late to the game, but here is a recap of my Sunday fashion!

Dress is from Francesca's
Shoes are Tory Burch

I have yet to find a Tory Burch bag that I LOVE - but man do I LOVE those flats!
Best investment.

The necklace is the Sutton by Stella & Dot

Way 1:

Way 2:
remove the hook & remove the sparkle strand

Way 3:
with the hook & without the sparkle strand

Way 4:
sparkle strand by itself

Way 5:
this is how I wore it - just remove the hook

Last but not least....

the ARM PARTY!

the one where i needed a new cami

Tuesdays & Thursdays are my days to "dress up". I use that term verrryyyy loosely, so please keep an open mind.

Mondays, Wednesdays, & Fridays, are my days to work from home, spend time with BittyBeau & pretend to do the whole "home making" thing.

So this is a "what I wore, Tuesday" post!

Pay attention to the awesome photography by MattyB. You couldn't pay for pictures this good.

I much prefer this picture - softer lighting, more flattering....but MattyB said
we needed "better lighting" than our dimly lit home theatre....

So a photo opp by the filing cabinets & under fluorescent was clearly the better choice.
(hope you picked up on the sarcasm)

Well hello peek-a-boo back!
Clearly, I need a new black camisole.
Does ANYONE make a swoop back one???
Seriously, if you have a source, help a sister out.

what i wore....THURSDAY

I hope your Thursday has been well. Mine has been....t.i.r.i.n.g

BittyBeau had an allergy test done yesterday, which means he had blood drawn. It was so difficult! Telling your 15 month old to sit still while you pretty much lock him down with your arms while he sits in your lap is not easy! Poor little man was terrified.

Which led to a horrendous evening in our household. He did not want to be by himself at all. I think he was traumatized. So needless to say he slept in our bed - not his crib. So 2 cute little feet were in my rib cage or back at any given time during the night. Except when he was 1000 degrees and wanting to cuddle. Such a sweet sweaty child :)

All for 2 viles of blood which will hopefully bring clarity to his eczema!
#curseyoueczema

So today - I'm operating on about 4 hours of sleep. (I know that's probably a TON of sleep for you...)
Which means I'm sporting some really awesome bags under my eyes!

My outfit today is brought to you courtesy of Nordstrom Rack, Buckle, Tory Burch, and Stella & Dot.

I am really more elated by my necklace & my sweater!

front
the brand of my cardigan is "Charlotte"
and judging by the fact i can not find it anywhere online - i'm thinking it's 5 seasons old

back :)
ignore the super plain bathroom shot....

This necklace can be worn several ways!!!! It's called the Sanibel Pendant :)

long with green quartz

long with smoky glass

short with smoky glass

short with green quartz

Here's some design info for you....
You'll just flip over this reversible pendant. Wear long or doubled with removable S-hook. Decisions, decisions.
  • Available in gold and silver.
  • Gold with smooth dyed quartz shimmers on one side. Smoky facted glass on the other.
  • Silver with semi-precious labradorite shimmers on one side. Aqua faceted glass on the other.
  • 34.5" long. Necklace length can be extended with our Bold Chain Extender.
  • Wear long or wear the chain doubled with removeable s hook.
  • Gold or silver plating.
  • Lead and nickel safe.
So there is a removable "s" hook - which is the key to shortening it. You can play around with the length when you shorten it....it just depends where you clasp it.

Isn't it cool????
It's an insane amount of bang for your buck!

making a statement

I have a mad love for statement necklaces. They can take your from frumpy to chic in a nano second.

The Dot Bloom has been helping me the past week to not look like I put zero effort in.

Rocked it over lace.....

and then with a purple leopard floral top.
(Haha, a Forever 21 find...the top is a hot mess)

I love throwing on a statement piece with a tshirt & jeans - that's my favorite. I feel like it's an instant mood lifter.

Do you accessorize?

What are your 'go to' pieces?
